In a dystopian world, plagued by over-population and pollution, the earth's resources have become stretched too thin and it can no longer support all of humanity. In response to the crisis, a world super-authoritarian government called VIREN (Vital Resource Enforcement Network) forced convicted criminals to... Liquidate individuals straining the world's resources... by drowning them in a corrupted ocean of pollution and waste. You play as one of those inmates, committing atrocities while being berated and shamed by a cold and unfeeling AI. 

Viren is a psychological horror game that actively explores the themes guilt, control, empathy, ethics and survival, asking complex questions about how we process trauma and confront our instinct to endure.
